PASSWORD 521

PASSWORD 521 was developed by PASSWORD Community Mentoring to provide early intervention services to IPS youth with moderate support needs due to exposure to known psychosocial risk factors and a lack of strong positive role models. PASSWORD 521 links children in need, early in their school careers, with qualified PASSWORD Mentors.

Each PASSWORD 521 Mentor serves a designated elementary school building on a full time basis, working with an ongoing caseload of five students. Mentors integrate the five core values of individualized, strengths-based, family driven, culturally competent, and collaborative care into their daily practice. They collaborate with school staff and family members while providing skill building, case management, crisis intervention, and other mentoring services.

The overarching goal of PASSWORD 521 is to enhance the resilience of at-risk youth by using mentoring to develop life skills, improve psychosocial functioning, and build protective factors into their lives.
